The Flow App serves as the central control unit for E-Bikes equipped with Bosch’s “smart system.” This application integrates the motor, battery, and display with your smartphone, providing a plethora of useful features. With a recent update, it adds even more capabilities for an enhanced riding experience.
Flow App: New Update Available
The latest update for the Flow App was launched on June 30 in the Google Play Store and became available on July 6 in the Apple App Store. This upgrade aims to make your eBike’s motor even smarter, as promised by Bosch in an official statement. One of the standout features enhanced by this update is the Extended Boost.
This feature allows you to navigate obstacles such as roots or steps on trails with ease. The motor provides a powerful and optimally timed impulse, propelling you up to two meters further. Now, you can customize the Extended Boost in the Flow App to align with your riding style, giving you a more personalized experience on the road.
AI Assistant for Your E-Bike
The update also brings an upgraded Drivetrain Tensioner. This enhancement facilitates more immediate power transfer when you pedal, allowing for greater control. The new functionality is available for the Performance Line CX-R (BDU386Y) and Performance Line CX (BDU384Y) models in Race, eMTB, and eMTB+ riding modes.
A software optimization further reduces the pedal’s play, consequently minimizing the delay when you start pedaling. The Drivetrain Tensioner is already active by default, but Bosch promises that a future update will allow you to enable or disable this feature as needed.
Additionally, a new AI-based eBike Assistant is now integrated into the Flow App. This assistant answers your questions about Bosch components in a conversational format, pulling information from the Help Center, official website, and relevant user manuals. Although this feature is currently in beta, some answers may not yet be fully accurate, but it represents an exciting step toward enhanced user interaction.
