The defeat of Canada’s national hockey team in the opening game of the World Under-20 Championship was not to the liking of the fans.

The 2-5 loss to the Czech Republic was a real surprise, as Canada is a big champion favorite in its home games.

Especially the most promising ones by Connor Bedard17, and by Adam Fantill18, the action on the ice caused fans’ emotions to heat up.

Both attackers tried aerial shots right in the first period of the match. The young people clearly wanted to get the hero’s cape on their backs, but the result did not come.

– It would be great if we tried to win this game, one commenter wrote in his anger on Instagram.

Canada’s fans wanted the players to stop playing catch-up and focus on building proper goal posts. Bedard in particular was guilty of trying alone too often in the match.

– That kind of bragging at the expense of team play is an easy way to get in trouble, the comments criticized.

This is what the Avenir Center arena looks like, where the Finnish U20 World Cup team plays the first series of the games.
