Jumbo takes over six stores from Jan Linders Supermarkets. In Brabant it concerns the store in Mill. There are also four stores in Limburg and one in Gelderland. Both supermarket chains announced this on Tuesday.
All acquired stores are expected to be converted to the format of the supermarket company in Veghel before the end of this year.
The employees of the stores have now been informed about the sales plans. They will be employed by Jumbo while retaining their current employment conditions. Financial details are not disclosed.
Further growth
Jan Linders decided at the end of 2022 to continue as an Albert Heijn franchisee. Of the 63 branches of the Limburg supermarket chain, 52 will be converted into AH.
Another takeover candidate has been sought for the remaining 11 stores. Of these, 6 are now in the hands of Jumbo.
