AS Roma head coach José Mourinho has received a significant punishment for the events of May’s Europa League final, a British newspaper Telegraph news.

The European football association Uefa would ban Mourinho for as many as four matches for next season’s European games. As a result, the coach will miss the majority of Roma’s European League first division matches this coming fall.

The Portuguese was penalized because he insulted the referee Anthony Taylor during and after the lost Euro final. Kuumakke waited for Taylor after the match in the parking garage of the Puskas Arena in Budapest, so he could cheer him up.

– Damn disgraceful man, this is damn disgraceful! Mourinho cursed and continued:

– Congratulations, you’re a disgrace. Go to hell!

In the final match, Roma lost to the Spanish Sevilla after a penalty shootout 1–2. Mourinho fumed when his side were not awarded a penalty, and in the penalty shootout, Sevilla’s winning goal came when Gonzalo Montiel was allowed to try to score twice due to Roma keeper Rui Patricio’s limp.

Roma received eight yellow cards in the match, one of which was given to Mourinho himself.

The events after the final at the Budapest airport were also sad to see. Referee Taylor had to flee with his family from being harassed by angry Roma fans.
