Jordy Graat and Christel de Laat stop their weekly radio program ‘Graat & De Laat’ on Omroep Brabant. The presenters announced this at the start of their broadcast on Saturday. Next week is the last show, but if it is up to Bone and De Laat, the farewell is not final. “It is what it is.”
“The tears are knocking against my huig,” Christel said on Saturday afternoon. “But it is what it is.” A few weeks ago she announced that she was going to stop presenting during carnival at Omroep Brabant.
She then also announced that she wanted to organize her weekends differently. “I just want more time for my family and my grandchild. Because of all the theater shows it is already very busy. I just have to make choices,” she said in the radio program.
In recent weeks, it has been looked at whether the radio show could be made on another day. “Unfortunately we have to conclude that we will not get it,” says chef Radio Maarten Kortlever. “The times when Jordy and Christel can do not fit us, and vice versa do not fit the times of Omroep Brabant with them. To the disappointment of everyone, but it is what it is today.”
By bus to Italy
‘Graat & De Laat’ started six years ago as a radio show, which was also broadcast on TV. Over the years, the program received a large number of fans. In 2023, Jordy took a coach full of listeners to a campsite in Italy, where Christel was on vacation. They all celebrated the 250th broadcast of ‘Graat & De Laat’.
Jordy and Christel would have had a big summer break anyway. If it is up to the two, the farewell is not final, although there are no concrete plans yet. “We are going to breed on that,” they say in unison. Next Saturday ‘Graat & De Laat’ can be heard for the last time between twelve and two in the afternoon.
Jordy Graat continues to be heard during the week with the morning program ‘Keeigoeiemorgen!’ On Omroep Brabant.
