17-year-old Jonas “Jonny” Wirth has qualified for the FIFA 23 Global Series Playoffs. The SC Paderborn 07 player is the fifth German in the field.
Jonny continued his current strong run. Just a few days ago, he made it into the top four in the Virtual Bundesliga. His record in the European play-ins of the FGS: six wins and two defeats in Swiss mode as well as strong games in the knockout stages. In the first round of the upper bracket he won against British scene veteran Spencer “Gorilla” Ealing (5:4). Jonny thus made the leap onto the big international stage early in his career.
Dylan “DullenMIKE” Neuhausen was less happy about his performance. The 2022 VBL individual champion flew out with one win and three defeats in Swiss mode. He then presented his destroyed Playstation controller on his Instagram channel.
Already at the VBL individual championship he fell short of his expectations and was eliminated in the round of 16. “Thanks anyway for all the support this year, the pain is deep,” continued DullenMIKE.
