The American actor Jonathan Joss is dead. On June 1, the 59-year-old was shot by a neighbor, according to several media reports in San Antonio, Texas. His husband Tristan Kern de Gonzales suspected that it was a homophobic act. So far, however, the police have not seen any concrete clues.

Tristan Kern de Gonzales wrote on Facebook: “My husband Jonathan Joss and I were injured in a firearm attack while we picked up the post at home.” The house burned down after they had received threats for over two years. “Much of these nuisances was open homophobic.” When they returned, they found “the skull of one of our dogs and his dishes – clearly visibly placed”. A man would have approached it and insulted her homophobic and shot. “Jonathan and I were unarmed. […] He saved my life. ” The two had been married since Valentine’s Day 2025.
According to “BBC”, the Texas police said: “Despite claims on the Internet, it is a hate crime, the current examination has so far not indicated that the murder of Mr. Joss is related to his sexual orientation.”

He was known for his role as John Redcorn in the animated series “King of the Hill” and as Chief Ken Hotate in “Parks and Recreation”.
