It has been more than two years since Johnny Kraaijkamp made his debut in Good Times Bad Times. His arrival had to do with a grand plan to save the soap opera. At the end of 2019, RTL 4 boss Peter van der Vorst thought that the series had to become ‘personal, recognizable and close’ again. That included an average grandfather figure like Johnny.

Johnny wants more money

Whether Johnny will stay on board at GTST for another season is open to question. The actor tells Story weekly that negotiations are currently taking place about his contract and that they are far from being completed.

He says: “Right now we are in the middle of negotiations for another one-year contract. I hope to be able to stay longer in GTST, but that has to do with money. The bottom line is that actors always want more money than RTL 4 is willing to pay.”

Satisfying

At the same time, Johnny is grateful that he has been able to play at all during the corona crisis in recent years. “I am very happy that I was able to continue working during the corona crisis, unlike many of my colleagues.”

At this moment Johnny is 68 years old and therefore already retired. GTST’s income is a welcome addition to his AOW and pension, insofar as he has it.
