Her brother recently set up his 13th world record. Now Johanna Duplanis Sweden also wants to represent internationally.

For the first time she is wearing her country’s national jersey – right alongside her famous brother: Johanna Duplantis celebrates her debut for Sweden at the weekend. The 22-year-old will compete in the pole vault in the traditional national struggle “Finnkampen” against Finland.

Johanna Duplantis had increased her personal best to 4.39 meters in June at a college competition in Eugene/Oregon. This does not yet belong to the international top – the world record of Jelena Issinbajewa has been 5.06 meters since 2009 – but motivation is great.

“It is a dream that has become true. I am very happy to represent Sweden – especially if I can compete with my brother,” said Duplantis. Your brother Armand is also there. The 25-year-old had only improved the world record to 6.29 meters on August 12 in Monaco and confidently leads the world year’s best list.
