Johan Derksen would find it very logical if Jeroen Pauw no longer returns as presenter of Bar Laat, but stays in Curaçao during the winter. “He must be embarrassed about it.”
It is a big disappointment: Bar Laat, the successor to Op1 as the late talk show of NPO 1. The program is completely irrelevant, no one is talking about it and far too few people watch it. Sophie Hilbrand is also not well received by television viewers and her regular co-host Jeroen Pauw is currently being replaced by Tim de Wit.
Boring pub
Jeroen is wintering in Curaçao and there is speculation that he may not return to the program at all, because Bar Laat is a bit doomed.
That talk show is also really boring, says Albert Verlinde Today Inside. “You know when you’re on holiday and you think: we’re going to have a drink, and you go into a pub, you look and you think: oh no, we’ll just keep walking. That’s what I have at Bar Laat that makes you think: what is this? What kind of unpleasant club is this?”
Is Jeroen staying away?
Johan Derksen wonders what Jeroen is going to do. “Is it true that Jeroen Pauw is not coming back?”
Albert: “It wouldn’t surprise me.”
Johan: “No, I would actually think it is very logical, because he must be embarrassed by this.”
Wilfred Genee false: “Things didn’t go well with Jeroen either, that program.”
Holy fire
Johan thinks that Jeroen does not fit well with the program. “No, but he didn’t have the sacred fire anymore, did he? He was there…”
Wilfred: “It was a bit like Feyenoord’s trainer.”
Albert: “Did you know that I was asked today by Bar Laat to visit there as a guest soon? To talk about what it’s like to sit here. To come sometime and talk about it.”
Comfortable
Johan understands that Albert refused. “But that’s easy, isn’t it? You want to have viewers, right? Then you know where to sit, right?”
Wilfred: “Chris Woerts has also canceled. They had already called them.”
Johan: “They haven’t called me yet! Hahahaha.”
