Joel Harkimo files for bankruptcy of Team Jokerit oy.
Harkimo announces it on Twitter. It is not about the background company of the club aspiring to Mestis. It is called Jokerit Helsinki oy.
– Today I filed for bankruptcy against Team Jokerit Oy. The decision is difficult and I am really sorry for the situation. Team Jokerit Oy filing for bankruptcy has no effect on the creation of a new Jokerit company, writes Harkimo.
Harkimo was previously the sole shareholder of Team Jokerit oy. Iltalehti reported in February that Harkimo had given up its stake in the company.
– When I started here in the fall, I couldn’t imagine that because of my name I wouldn’t be able to participate in Finnish ice hockey. Being part of the Jokers had always been my dream. It turned out, however, that my participation is an obstacle to the new arrival of the Jokers. Team Jokerit Oy did not have and does not have the conditions to conduct business. I’m sorry for how everything went both for the club and for all its creators.
Harkimo is not going to comment further on the matter.
