In the early 2000s, the hit band Technicolour made a return on Friday, May 23, after an 18-year break. The band’s new song Summer Unlike previous production, it is in Finnish.
The band’s frontman Jimi Skullo opens his moods from the return of radio presenter Satu Kotonen Saturday’s radio interview. The skull answers the phone after a long night’s sleep, which can be surprising the morning after the release date.
– I don’t usually wake up so late, but now it’s been a longer week, so I gave myself permission to sleep a little longer on Saturday, the skull tells Kotonen on the radio.
The skull says he has celebrated the new single and the band’s return on Friday night to his friend’s house party.
There were also top artists at the moment.
“There were Ares and all kinds of other characters with whom I stayed to throw a flap for a long night,” the skull reveals.
– I probably got home for one time, he continues.
The skull says he had only sleep much later, as the conversations and “energy” were remembered.
The release of the new song was by accident, says the skull. Technicolori was not supposed to release new music, but the artist Tuuli heard the new song and suggested the skull to release it.
– Now we are here that the song is in the yard, the skull inches in an interview.
This is what life is now
Today, the skull works in the role of A&R in the League Music. In addition, he says and composes songs for other artists.
– My spring has been pretty busy with all this that I have balanced these other moods.
– It’s been a busy spring and maybe that is the reason why I gave myself permission to sleep for so long today. The song came out yesterday and now it’s a good feeling. I let myself rest, he describes.
Even the priorities of 43-year-old Jimi Pääkallo have become new.
– Maybe I’m most interested in outdoor activities and rest this weekend. After that, let’s see what will be invented next, he finally says.
The first gigs Technicolour will be doing this summer. More gigs are coming in the fall. The band will return this year with a new configuration. The band features founder Jimi Pääkallo, original members Gary Keskinen and Toni Hintikka, Aki Räty, who was on the first album and tour, and Sami Osala, a new face from Sunrise Avenue.
