Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo end their marriage. According to divorce documents obtained by People magazine, the country singer and the adult content creator and podcaster are divorcing after 10 years together. TMZ was first to report the news.

Court records show that Jelly Roll – real name: Jason DeFord – filed for divorce from Bunnie Xo, formerly Alyssa DeFord, in May in Williamson County, Tennessee. Jelly Roll is originally from Antioch, a Nashville suburb with a rugged charm that the former rapper has made a central part of his origin story.

A spokesman for Jelly Roll did not initially respond to ROLLING STONE’s request.

Ten years of marriage in Las Vegas

Jelly Roll married Bunnie Xo in Las Vegas in the summer of 2016. In her recently published memoir, Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic, she detailed their love story – including how they supported and accepted each other through their difficult pasts. Bunnie spoke openly about her past drug use while Jelly Roll was in and out of prison for offenses including drug possession, drug trafficking and aggravated robbery.

She also described her life, including experiences with drug abuse, a previous abortion and various relationships, before she met her future husband.

“When you’re with someone for a long time, you have to love them even in their darkest moments. I really believe that true love isn’t so much about accepting things you shouldn’t — but I think everyone deserves a second chance,” Bunnie Xo told People earlier this year. “Loving someone at their weakest is one of the most beautiful things you can do, especially when they are blossoming and growing – like my husband.”

Acceptance at the Grammys

In his acceptance speech at the Grammy Awards in February 2026, when he won Best Contemporary Country Album for “Beautifully Broken,” Jelly Roll Bunnie thanked Xo for saving his life. “Without you, I would never have changed my life. I would have ended up dead or in prison,” he said on stage. “Without you and Jesus, I would have destroyed myself.”
