Ubisoft has officially released Patch 1.04 for the newly launched PS5 remake, “Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced,” on July 16, 2026. With a download size of 2.44 gigabytes, this patch primarily focuses on fixing gameplay glitches and enhancing overall performance.

Pirate Life Without Ship Loss

“Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced” received an overwhelmingly positive review upon its debut, largely due to the vibrant Caribbean atmosphere brought to life with updated graphics. However, technical issues marred the initial experience for many players.

One major frustration involved the Jackdaw, the player’s ship, which could mysteriously vanish after dock upgrades. Suddenly, players found themselves stranded, which is a bewildering bug in a pirate-themed game. Patch 1.04 directly addresses this issue, ensuring that players no longer have to worry about losing their vessels.

In addition to ship-related problems, the combat system and movement mechanics also undergo vital improvements. Previously, players could inadvertently execute double jumps while using advanced parkour, moving through colonial cities as if they were superheroes. This unintended feature has been removed, as Ubisoft aims to enhance realism.

Moreover, the patch fixes irritating issues with harpooning, where players would often fall victim to a whale’s tail slap regardless of their evasive maneuvers. It turns out that these problems stemmed from coding errors rather than player skill. With this update, dodging the whale’s attacks is now functioning smoothly.

The Top 5 Highlights of the Patch

  1. The Jackdaw Remains in the Dock: Players can upgrade their ship without the fear of it disappearing from the game.

  2. No More Infinite Double Jumps: The glitchy double jump feature associated with advanced parkour has been completely removed.

  3. Fairer Harpooning: The mechanics for avoiding the lethal tail slap of the humpback whale are now functioning correctly.

  4. Improved Performance & Stability: General optimizations for a smoother gaming experience on the PS5.

  5. Combat Assistance against El Tiburon: Clear indicators are now provided to help players break through the boss’s defenses.

While the update does not introduce new content, it represents a much-needed corrective measure for Ubisoft. The fixed bugs were particularly detrimental to the gaming experience. With save files loading more reliably and quests no longer obstructed by invisible Animus walls, the remake is now significantly more polished. Players who hesitated due to the launch bugs can confidently set sail starting tomorrow.
