The Italian Jasmine Paolini wrote history in the final of Rome’s WTA tournament.
The world rankings fifth won 6: 4, 6: 2 against the former US Open winner Coco Gauff (USA) and ensured the first Italian triumph in the high-class women’s tournament in the Foro Italico.
For Paolini it is her third tournament victory on the WTA tour. On Saturday evening, the 29-year-old of number four gauff gave no chance, especially in the second set, and took three serve games from her opponent.
On Sunday (5:00 p.m.) Jannik Sinner can give the Italian audience the double home win.
In the final of the ATP Master, the world is number one in the world with the Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, who already reaches after his third title of the season.
