In the caption, Saario profusely thanks the ship’s owner, the Greek shipping company Alassia, and the ship’s crew for saving his life.

– An absolutely incredible achievement under those conditions. It showed insane professionalism, Saario praised his rescuers.

Saario distributed thanks from the teams of his project and rescue operation in many other directions as well.

– When history is made, things don’t always go as planned. You are all my big heroes, Saario wrote.

Based on the pictures, a party has also been organized on the ship in honor of the successful rescue operation.

Saario, 53, is currently traveling towards Cape Town aboard Cymona Eagle. The ship’s crew lifted Saario out of the sea early on Sunday, when she was in distress at sea.
