Jari Litmanen hands out bowl at Ajax championship

If Ajax becomes champion on Wednesday, former Ajax player Jari Litmanen will award the championship scale. The team from Amsterdam will play at home against sc Heerenveen on Wednesday and if they win, Ajax will be the champion of the Netherlands.

51-year-old Litmanen played for Ajax from 1992 to 1999 and returned to Amsterdam in 2002 for two years. The Finn became four times national champion with Ajax. In 1995, the midfielder won the Champions League and the World Cup with the team from Amsterdam.

If Ajax becomes national champion for the 36th time on Wednesday, there will be a ceremony in the Joham Cruijff Arena. Due to a lack of security guards, there will be no ceremony on the Museumplein.
