The shine is a bit off: Jan Smit has been presenting the music festival on the square for years, but what used to feel like a vibrant summer event, now looks like a fringed TV project. One event in one village is spread out over several episodes, in which the same artists always appear. It all feels like one big repetition.
Weird program
Tina Nijkamp, the TV authority of our country, is very critical about it. “What kind of weird program has it become?” She broke into her podcast Tina’s TV UPDATE. “It has been created to bring the region to the attention. Outdated
It is a miss of AVROTROS to hold a regional party on the Ring A10, according to Tina. “There is already so much from Amsterdam and there is already so much attention for Amsterdam, but Jan Smit is now also presenting on that ring, which was also three months ago, so it also feels very outdated.”
She continues: “A very strange story. Maybe they are subsidized by Amsterdam and that they contribute to it. I don’t know.”
Totally swept
According to Tina, the guest list is also suspicious. “Then you see that the three episodes in Leeuwarden have come by the same artists. As a viewer, you are totally fucked and totally fucked by Jan Smit, who is therefore also announcing every episode in the same jacket:” We are back from Leeuwarden again. “”

I don’t know what kind of deals are going behind the scenes, but I think it’s a very shadowy story.”

According to Tina, there is a good chance that music festival on the square runs on its last legs. AVROTROS does not respond to the question whether this show will continue.
