Love is in the air in the Jan Biggel home. He never thought it possible, but after his artist trip to Turkey he not only returned with a screaming hangover, but also with a new splash on his arm. The singer from Liempde is head over heels in love. Time to introduce his Helga.
The well-known artist trips speak for themselves. Singing for days, filling up on beer and baking under the Mediterranean sun. As so often, Biggel also went on the road last week, this time with six hundred fans in his wake to the Turkish Riviera.
But on Monday it turned out that in addition to a slightly burned skin, he had also returned with a new flame. “Yes, he is very nice, we suddenly clicked and there was a spark,” says Helga with twinkling eyes at the table at the Talk Show Friday.
“You must have had too much to drink, or not?”, Biggel laughs. The two laugh out loud. “It was nice,” Helga nods approvingly. That love was sealed several times with a drink, or yes, a number of drinks. In front of the Omroep Brabant camera, little Biggel was even talked sweetly about. “We can at least try,” roared the singer who is making a splash with hits like Our mother is still seay and Lilluke Linda.
But who is that mysterious ginger beauty who managed to control Jan Biggel’s heart? “Yes, actually Jan, but always cheerful,” says Helga. The cheerful Eindhoven native: “My friends are happy for me, they say: ‘That’s the same fool as thou.‘”

A number of images from the holiday show how the lovebirds found each other. A video in which the two shuffle and dance in the Turkish moonlight. And another clip in which the two eat a total of seven piña coladas. On the arm of his Eindhoven sweetheart, Biggel rarely danced so well in time.
“We had known each other for some time. I met her on several previous music trips,” says the singer. And it is clear, Helga managed to fight her way through the hordes of worshipers to the front spot near the stage.
“Don’t you know how difficult that is? On those music tours with all those women, I have to shield myself a bit,” he gestures while waving to keep the eager entourage away.
“I thought: something is wrong here, I haven’t become prettier.”
“Yes, at first I didn’t sing, then no one wanted me. And when I started singing, look at what happened. I thought: something isn’t right here, I haven’t become prettier.”
The singer from Liempde had actually already given up hope. “I thought, I must have too many notes on the vocals,” Biggel says. “The relationships I had before only lasted an hour and cost 250 euros,” Biggel laughs.
“But then I met her.” And the Eindhoven siren has had to meet many requirements, because he is picky. “She has to be the same age, she has to be independent, she has to be spontaneous,” the folk singer begins to sum up, counting on his fingers. “Sweet little backpack. It probably doesn’t exist, I thought.”
“He’s very romantic.”
“He is very romantic,” says Helga. She nods, blushes a little and smiles at Piggy. “He can also be very sweet and calm, you know. He recently made me breakfast, made me sandwiches and brought me to work neatly.”
“Yes, I’m sure,” the Eindhoven native laughs. “It immediately felt good, so I’m very careful with it,” Biggel adds, putting an arm around his sweetheart.
