Jako AG is expanding its range to include football shoes. On Friday, the German team sports specialist announced its entry into this segment. The new models are produced in Portugal and therefore bear the “Made in Europe” label.
“Entering the football shoe segment is a real milestone for Jako. We are expanding our portfolio to include the last crucial element on the field, thereby completing our performance promise,” says Tobias Röschl, Director of Marketing & Sales at Jako.
At the start, the company is launching two football shoe models: the “RS89” and the “Opura”. The RS89 is aimed at offensive player types and features a lightweight, technical upper. The Opura has a synthetic leather upper that allows for a precise feel on the ball. Both models are offered at different price points and are available as both performance-oriented elite versions and team variants. There are also special “Academy” versions for children.
The shoes were developed together with players from the amateur and professional sectors. Experiences from game operations flowed directly into the development process through test phases and feedback rounds.
“Jako is football – and together we have made it to the top in the teamwear sector,” says company founder Rudi Sschläger. “This competence, the passion for the product and the close partnership with retailers should also be reflected in the new football shoes topic. Because what sets Jako apart is not just the product – but what we make of it together.”
