For five years, David (Sam Worthington) is serving a life sentence in federal prison, accused of murdering his own son. An apparently granitic man but in truth tormented inside, he cannot accept that he was unable to save his son. The hope that he might still be alive pushes him to become a fugitive and risk everything. The search for the truth, centered on a disappearance and multiple parallel investigations, brings to light a painful past and unspeakable secrets. Typical aspects, now a real signature, of Coban’s productions, serial in all respects. Of such easy and sure appeal to the spectator.
Next to David, Rachel she is a stubborn journalist who, after being fired from an important position, has no longer been able to find new opportunities. Champion of the sound moral principles of her professionand for this fish out of water in a world of sharks, finds new life and energy in David’s story. She too comes from a difficult past, which she can now leave behind to start doing what she has always believed in again.

Well aware of its means and its target audience, Wherever you are he goes out of his way to create empathy for David and his crusade. Several flashbacks that show him in the park with his son and his voice over accompanies the rhythm of the story, making the viewer participate in his thoughts and positions. Despite the melodramatic side (sometimes a bit corny), the series doesn’t waste any frills to get straight to the point.
With so many characters in play, continuous revelations and new leads, focuses on conventional situations and characters cut with an axe. The violence in prison, the escape, the car chases. And then again the investigations of assault journalists and those of the protagonist, who transforms as expected into a detective despite himself. And in no time he becomes as good as Liam Neeson at I will find you. In the division of forces in the field, it’s very clear who the good guys are and who the bad guys arewithout leaving room for grid areas or shades.
Arrived on Netflix when the summer heat now besieges the entire peninsula, the miniseries proves to be a good entertainment product for those looking for a diversiondoesn’t have too many pretensions and is ready to turn a blind eye to a few too many naiveties and plot holes.
