Jacquemus has found a new CEO.
More than a year after the farewell to Bastien Daguzan in December 2023, the French label Sarah Benady appointed the new Global Chief Executive Officer, Jacquemus said on Tuesday. It competes with immediate effect.
Simon Porte Jacquemus, founder of the brand of the same name, has held both the creative and business management since the previous CEO had left. With the appointment of Benady to the new CEO, she will now take responsibility for strategic expansion and brand development. The aim is to establish Jacquendus as a global high-end luxury house.
Benady takes up her position just a few weeks after the announcement of a partnership with the beauty giant L’Oréal. Previously, she worked with Celine as President for North America and played a crucial role in the brand’s expansion under creative director Hedi Slimane. During her term of office, Celine optimized his infrastructure and significantly strengthened its market presence in North America.
Benady started her career in Hong Kong at the luxury jewelry manufacturer Cartier before moving to the French Luxury department store Printemps and supporting the chief merchandising officer there. Later she led The Kooples’ European business and successfully introduced the brand to the North American market. Then she worked as a CEO North America for the French label BA & SH.
Benady’s knowledge of the US market in particular should be of particular interest to the brand, which recently opened its first shop in New York City and has announced a next phase of the shop openings in 2025 and 2026.
