“Jaakko would have very strongly wanted it to be published”

Actor and musician known from Pikku Kakkone Jaakko Loukkola died in June at the age of 35.

Today, Friday, a new audio series aimed at children will appear in Areena Tail bouncerswith Loukkola in one of the roles.

Head of Yle’s children’s programs Markku Mastomäki tells Iltalehte that Loukkola’s sudden death has not affected the publication of the program.

– Then there was a discussion about it with the family and the creators. The end result was that Jaakko would have very strongly wanted it to be published when it was supposed to be published.

We have already heard from Loukkola posthumously Backpack-Hepu and Bot’s car journey -audio series. Mastomäki reveals that Loukkola will also be seen next year with unreleased material in the form of a video series. It’s about Backpack-Heppu and Botti second season of the series.

Little Kakkonen’s executive producer Teija Röysä previously commented to Iltalehti that the programs starred by Loukkola will be published according to the original plan at the request of the relatives.

– It’s about a children’s program and a character. The relatives think that Jaako’s wish would have been for the children to see Backpack-Hepu as they have been until now. A memorial episode has not been planned, nor has it been the wish of the relatives, Röysä told Iltalehte regarding the Backpack-Heppu character shortly after Loukkola’s death.

Mastomäki also confirms that the Backpack-Heppu character will continue his life with a new actor.
