“I’ve been a sticky hat for 25 years!”

Window film may not seem very special at first. For many people, applying window film is even a downright nightmare. Miranda de Jong (46) van Window foil paradise.nl knows how to do it. She sells custom-made window film through her web store that you can have designed completely to your own taste and, very handy, she also applies it for you.

Miranda de Jong (46) has been living in Zoetermeer for eighteen years now, together with her husband, teenage son and two Jack Russels. She is the owner of the webshop Raamfolieparadijs.nl. How did she come up with the idea of selling window film?

Huge question

Miranda says: “In 1998 I started as a sign maker (designing and making advertising signs, ed.). So I’ve been a sticky cap for twenty-five years!’ she jokes jokingly. She continues: “In 2012 I started a webshop for wall stickers. I also placed examples of window film there that were increasingly in demand. Then I stopped with the wall stickers and started with the window film webshop.’

Unique and custom made

What makes Raamfolieparadijs.nl different from the role of the DIY store? Miranda explains: “We make custom window film in our workshop. The customer’s request is sent to the cutting machine and we cut the design there.” Very nice, because this way you can come up with all kinds of creative ideas that fit perfectly with your home. For example, if you have a furry four-legged friend at home, you can have a portrait of your furry friend made in window film. There are endless possibilities, just take a look at the Instagram page.

Known nationally and internationally

The webshop is going well; Miranda has customers throughout the Netherlands, but also in Belgium and even in Germany they know where to find her web store. She mainly supplies private individuals, but you can now find her window film in various well-known places in Zoetermeer, such as at Doppio and on the windows of De Paulusschool. Miranda: “I think one of the coolest designs is that of a resident at the Schansbaan, the design of a large Buddha at the front door.”

What Miranda is proud of? “I like it best when people are enthusiastic and think it’s even better than they expected. Sometimes I even make people so happy that it makes them emotional. That’s what I do it for!”
