Joost Klein is taken by De Mangel after his divagon behavior on Pinkpop, where he forbade everyone from taking photos or videos of him. “Isn’t it bizarre, isn’t it?” It sounds on TV.
Even Justin Timberlake had not imposed any restriction on the photographers present, including BN’er photographer William Rutten, to take photos of his performance on Pinkpop. Who of all artists, including the big names, was the most difficult towards the press? Nobody is surprised by now: Joost Klein, the former song festival entry.
“Scandalous!”
William, like his colleagues, really annoyed himself very well at the attitude of Joost. “Joost also had a nice message for everyone, because Joost did not want to be photographed. By no one,” he says in Shownieuws.
“And he is actually the only act of all the acts that didn’t want that, so that was really spoken of. I think the Joost was really a bit too high in the sphere.”
‘Still bizarre’
Colleague Bart Ettekoven is starting to annoy the day more about Joost’s divoring behavior. “It is bizarre, isn’t it? I was watching the TV this afternoon and Joost Klein was not allowed to be broadcast on TV, so not only you as photographers were not allowed to capture him, but also the TV cameras.”
Bart would never have agreed to that if he was the Pinkpop top. “Isn’t that strange that such an organization also agrees?”
Everything on tape
It was just not a good show, says William. “I watched the show, almost everything was on tape, there was a kind of DJ ramming with it, all his second voices on band with which he was singing a bit.”
He continues: “It just didn’t mean that much. Maybe I am not the target group, because I really saw people go crazy, but I thought it was very lean.”
Nice boy
Who William is enthusiastic about? Claude, who succeeded Joost as an entry for the Songfestival. “Claude opened the main stage. He really did that very well.”
He concludes: “It wasn’t that busy yet, but he really took the whole field. It is a very nice, sympathetic kid. He just did very well.”
