Norwegian superstar Karsten Warholm’s performance in the semi-finals of the 400-meter hurdles was for a while under the rubble.

Warholm won the third semi-final with a time of 47:09, being the fastest of the semi-finals. After the race, however, doubts arose about his crossing the second fence, as his other leg seemed to go off the side of the fence. The Italian Athletics Federation lodged a protest against Warholm’s run on Monday evening.

However, the appeal presented by Italy was rejected and Warholm will participate in the 400-meter hurdles final at the World Championships in Budapest. An Italian reported on the matter Gazette. If Warholm had been rejected, he might have been replaced by Italy’s Alessandro Sibilio.

According to Gazzetta, the appeal period expired, but the rules allow for a new appeal if new evidence emerges.

Warholm is the 400m hurdles Olympic champion, world champion and ME man.
