Niclas Füllkrug is about to move to AC Milan. On Monday he arrived in the fashion metropolis – and cheered up those waiting.

For Niclas Füllkrug it’s Milan instead of London. According to media reports from Sky and “Bild”, the German striker is moving to AC Milan on loan from West Ham United. The Italian top club has been courting the 32-year-old for a long time to strengthen the sparse offensive. According to Sky, Milan does not pay a loan fee, but the Italians cover the entire salary.

In order to complete the deal before Christmas, Füllkrug traveled to Milan yesterday, Monday, to complete the medical check. Photographers, journalists and some fans were still waiting at the airport late in the evening to see the national striker.

The Italians immediately had a reason to laugh. Because when Füllkrug saw the people present, he greeted them shortly before midnight with “Buongiorno”, in German: “Good morning”.

Füllkrug also amused some people online. “Good morning in the evening and a mischievous smile, welcome Panzer,” wrote a fan on the platform X. Another commented: “Better good morning at 11:40 p.m. than Forza Lazio.” He was reminiscent of Lucas Biglia, who once greeted the waiting fans with “Forza Lazio” after a move from Lazio Rome to Milan, which was not well received at all.

For Füllkrug, the move to Italy is probably the last chance to win a place in the German World Cup squad. Due to his lack of appearances and numerous injuries at West Ham, he was recently no longer nominated by national coach Julian Nagelsmann. In Milan he now wants to gain the necessary match practice in order to travel to the USA.
