Two months after Brian Wilson’s death, the Beach Boys legend was buried on the Westwood Memorial Park in Los Angeles.
Signs of the proximity
His daughter Carnie Wilson, singer of the nineties trio Wilson Phillips, wrote a moving contribution on Instagram about the burial of her father: “Today we buried my daddy,” she said. “It was incredibly difficult to experience it, but at the same time it gave me more conclusion and a feeling of peaceful calm. The past eight weeks have been extremely challenging and nothing that I have ever experienced. I love and miss him so much and wish that he could come back.”
She added: “There are so many signs he gives me every day and I know that he can hear me and he can see me. He makes it clear. I am so grateful for it. Today there were a few monarchfalter who just didn’t want to leave the grave. I didn’t like it when I cried. “
Wilson died on June 11th at the age of 82; His funeral service took place in July. The cause of death was given “respiratory arrest”, with sepsis and bladder infection as a contribution factors. He was cremated and buried next to his brother and bandmate Carl, who died of lung cancer in 1998.
Dignifications and memories
After his death, Carnie wrote that Wilson was “every fiber of my body … I have never felt such pain before, but I know that he is resting up there in heaven … or maybe for Grandma Audree, his mother, piano.” His bandmate and cousin Mike Love praised him (he also spoke to the Songwriters Hall of Fame), as did Beach Boy Al Jardine.
Countless honors of music colleagues followed, including Bruce Springsteen, Sting, Paul McCartney, Elton John and many others. When Bob Dylan from Wilson’s death learned, “he thought of all the years in which I listened to him and admired his genius.”
