As with the competition in Düsseldorf, the so-called “take-off zone” was also used in Berlin. Instead of the usually 20 centimeter wide board, the athletes have a 40-centimeter zone for the valid jump.

Mikalle Assani from SCL Heel Baden-Baden came in second. The 22-year-old student reached a good 6.80 meters with her sixth and last attempt. The Dutchman Pauline Hondema (6.73 m) won bronze. Malaika Mihambo, who had recently set up a world year’s best at 7.07 meters, was not there, but had to fit in Berlin at short notice in Berlin due to an infection.
