Valtteri Bottas ranking improved by a notch after the Canadian GP when Fernando Alonso received a time penalty.
Alonso was seventh in the finish just before Bota. However, the Spanish fighter made radical driving in front of Bottas at the end of the race.
The jury took these acts into investigation, eventually punishing the Spaniard with a five-second time penalty. It dropped the front-runner Alonso to ninth in the final. Also Guanyu Zhou rose ahead of the Alpine driver.
In addition, Alonso received one penalty point. He now has six of them for a year.
