Ilta-Sanomat reports on the details of Mikko Mäkeläinen’s criminal charge.

Iskelmä star Mikko Mäkeläää accused of fraud in the district court of Varsinais-Suomen. According to the indictment, the fraud took place on December 15, 2017 in Turku.
Ilta-Sanomat reports that according to the preliminary investigation, the charge concerns the sale of real estate. The buyer claims that the house sold by Mäkeläinen had already had repairs and problems related to moisture damage before the house sale.
According to IS, in 2019, the buyer had carried out investigations, which revealed that the partition walls and the lower parts of the walls on the ground floor of the house have moisture damage and that the surface structures are damaged by moisture in some places.
According to IS, the buyer says that based on neighbors’ observations, the sides of the house were excavated in 2015–2016. At that time, the property allegedly had similar moisture problems as it does now. The buyer claims that Mäkeläinen was aware of the situation, but did not report it in connection with the house sales.
According to IS, Mäkeläinen denies the claims. According to Mäkeläinen, the previous measures related to moisture findings in the house were carried out when Alakerta was still unfinished. According to Mäkeläinen, it was not about repairing, but “completing the original construction work”. The purchase price of the house sold in 2017 was 540,000 euros.
Several days have been set aside for the processing of the case in the District Court of Varsinais-Finland, i.e. from 3 to 5. September
Mäkeläinen won the Ponnahdus pinnalle and Suomen tähti competitions in the early 2000s and was also ranked in the top ten at the Seinäjoki Tango Market. From that started touring around Finland with the Myrskylyht Orchestra.
Mäkeläinen said in 2019 that he struggled with alcohol addiction.
– I have been looking at my life for the last few years through gray glasses, maybe I was physically present, but mentally somewhere on the borderlands of darkness. I realize that I have made a lot of bad choices over the past few years and that I have harmed both myself and my immediate environment through my own actions, Mäkeläinen wrote on Instagram at the time.
