From 2027 there will be a little more Italy in every bike in the Superbike world championship, thanks to Brembo which will be the supplier of the braking systems from next year for all teams of the paddock with unique technology for all teams. An announcement that was launched by the top management of the Bergamo company at the Misano World Circuit, on the occasion of the seventh grand prix of the season. The new system is called Hyction and consists of a carbon-ceramic material capable of offering a greater margin of customization to pilots. This makes it possible to produce just one version of brakes, which can more easily adapt to the needs of the teams, while also marking an important step forward in terms of efficiency and long-term sustainability, with fewer versions needing to be produced.

a new chapter

Mario AlmondoBrembo’s performance director, christened this as a new beginning in Brembo’s 51-year motorsport history. “The greater ability to fine-tune and customize this new material will also provide greater safety for pilots” he states, reiterating the important innovation that this technology entails. Then he concludes by saying: “Hyction and its diffusion in all the World Superbike teams embodies the true soul of Brembo: pushing the limits of performance even further.” The executive director of the Superbike world championship was also enthusiastic Gregorio Lavilla: “By expanding our relationship with Brembo in this new technical chapter, we strengthen the relevance of the Championship as a platform where the innovation developed in competition contributes to the future of production motorcycles.”

Hyction technology will be active from 2027 but, before seeing it in action during the riders’ braking, it will be necessary to follow the current Superbike World Championship to the end. A championship that reads like 2026 but reads like Ducati, with the two Aruba team riders dominating undisturbed on the top two steps of the podium. Nicolò Bulega he has so far achieved first place in all seasonal competitions, reaching the record of 22 consecutive successes if the last ones in 2025 are also counted. Now the next challenge for the Emilian driver is Misanowhere last season he failed to impose himself, concluding the weekend with a retirement and two second places. Friday’s free practice confirmed his form, concluding with the best time in both sessions despite complaining of a less than optimal feeling with the changes made to his bike post-race.
