BVB fan favorite Tullberg before the end?

Mike Tullberg has been a youth coach at Borussia Dortmund for several years. But the leap into the professional area is becoming more and more likely.
After the end of coach Nuri Şahin in January, U19 coach Mike Tullberg took over the professionals of Borussia Dortmund. The Dane sat on the bench for three games and quickly became a fan favorite due to its emotional way. After the obligation of Niko Kovač, Tullberg then went back to the U19. But he will probably not do this job for too long.
As the “Ruhr Nachrichten” report, an early separation will be possible in the coming summer. Even though Tullberg still has a contract until 2026. But the chance of doing the next career step in another place has existed for some time. The newspaper therefore assesses a departure as a “likely scenario”.
In March 2023, the “Bild” reported that Tullberg was in conversation with Eintracht Frankfurt to replace the then coach Oliver Glasner. In the end, the Hessen opted for Dino Toppmöller.
However, Brann Bergen’s interest in the current season was more specific. According to the TV broadcaster Sky, the Norwegian first division club had already held several talks with the 39-year-old, who in the end surprisingly canceled and remained in Dortmund. A few weeks later he was sitting on the BVB professional coaching bench.
Tullberg himself confirmed in the autumn of this season: “There are always inquiries.” It is possible that he will like another task in the coming summer. His balance sheet speaks for him: Tullberg became the final in the 2021/22 season with BVB A-Junior Champion, and also came to the final in the two following years. In the current season he also fights for the title, but possibly for the last time.
