Basketball Bundesliga club Ratiopharm Ulm won his home game on Easter Monday against EWE Baskets Oldenburg with 119 to 92. Ulm remains on Bayern hunt in the table.
There are basketball games between Ulm and Oldenburg, they went into the history books due to their drama. The game in the Neu-Ulmer arena on Easter Monday is not one of them. The second in the table was too dominant.
Ulm and Oldenburg in the first quarter at eye level
A class difference cannot be seen between the second and fourteenth in the first few minutes. Both teams find a striking number of gaps in the opponent’s defense. Appropriate many baskets fall on both sides. Karim Jallow with a lot of effort and Tobias Jensen with eight points protrude from the home side. Center Norris Agbakoko is the most striking Oldenburg in the first quarter. At 25 to 24, Ulm is just ahead after the first ten minutes.
Ulm increases the pace in the second quarter
Ulm better comes into the second quarter. Noa Essengue ensures the first highlights – first the monster block at the back, in return points with dunking. Oldenburg coach Mladen Drijencic has to take the time out. Ulm threatens to pull away (36:26). During the break, Ulm’s coach Ty Harrelson also caught the right speech. His team switches a gear higher. Nelson Weidemann does three three in a row. The guests now have enormous trouble to go with the high of Ulm. Up to the break siren, however, Ulm misses the lead significantly higher (50:41).
With Karim Jallow towards home victory
The second half starts bumpy. Many whistles from the referees prevent a liquid game. The fact that Ty Harrelson gets a technical foul because of complaint fits this phase of the game. By video evidence, the referees decide on an unsportsmanlike foul against Jensen, after a blow to the General Commerce. This interruption is also not beneficial for the flow of the game.
Only Karim Jallow is unimpressed by all of this. Jallow scored twelve of the 37 Ulm points in the third quarter. Oldenburg has nothing to oppose the Ulm “Energizer”. The second place in the Bundesliga is now clearly in the direction of home win. Ulm won the third quarter with 37 to 18 – and thus also ensures the preliminary decision in this game on Easter Monday.
Scenes for the gallery in the last quarter
On the hunt for the 100 points for Ulm, Noa Essengue starts with a crashing Dunking in the final quarter. On the other hand, the Oldenburgers show this with Schoormann and Agbakoko no less spectacular. The last ten minutes have high entertainment value – the game has been decided sporty. The celebrated 100 points makes Essengue full. Ulm is still playing for the gallery. Around 5,500 spectators in the arena have a lot of fun, celebrating their team with “Super Ulmer, Super Ulmer” speech choirs. The top scorer of the game are Essengue (22) for Ulm and Jaworski (21) for Oldenburg.
