Iron Maiden will probably not give a concert in the Las Vegas Sphere. Front man Bruce Dickinson recently commented in one Interview with Eddie Trunk for Siriusxm very clearly.

When asked whether the band could imagine a concert in the futuristic arena, Dickinson said: “No. Maiden revolves around the relationship with the band and the audience. The Sphere would simply not be suitable for us, we would feel uncomfortable with it.”

He added: “We move on stage, interact with fans, that would not work in the sphere.”

Las Vegas Sphere: high-tech arena for top acts

The Las Vegas Sphere was opened in 2023 and is considered a state -of -the -art arena. She has already housed appearances by U2, Phish, The Eagles and the Backstreet Boys. Another sphere location in Abu Dhabi is planned for the future.

While some bands see the appearance in the Sphere as a milestone, Iron Maiden does not seem to be able to understand this step.

Special set and new band cast

On her current “Run for your Lives” tour, Iron Maiden played a special set that contained only songs from the first nine studio albums, from her self-titled debut to “Fear of the Dark”. Nine of the 17 songs have not been presented live for many years, including “Murders in the Rue Morgue” and “Killers”, which was last heard on stage in 1999.

The tour also marked the first appearance with the new drummer Simon Dawson, who replaced the long -time drummer Nicko McBrain. McBrain had announced last year to withdraw from touring after he suffered a slight stroke in 2023, which led to partial paralysis on its right side.

Deaths at Iron Maiden

Paul Mario Day also died this summer at the age of 69. Day was the first singer of Iron Maiden in 1975 and was replaced by Dennis Wilcock, who was replaced by Paul Di’anno. Di’anno sang on the band’s first two albums and died in 2024 at the age of 66.

So while Iron Maiden are not enthusiastic about the sphere, Metallica seem to be very interested in appearing in the futuristic arena. In an interview with Howard Stern on Siriusxm, Drummer Lars Ulrich said that the band finds the location “incredibly exciting”. There are no concrete plans yet, but the idea will definitely continue to be checked after the tour 2026.
