Former skater Ireen Wüst and her wife Letitia de Jong have had a child. “Pip was born on June 17. We are completely in the clouds!”, Writes the multiple Olympic champion from Goirle on Instagram. In the meantime, congratulations on her social media account are flowing in and more than 7000 likes have already been distributed within half an hour.

The message responds, among other things, by skaters such as Jenning de Boo and Hein Otterspeer who seem to be in love with the little one who is in the photo with the Wüst message.

Former champion Mark Tuitert places many hearts and sports reporter Barbara Barend congratulates the couple with their sprout. Skater Kjeld Nuis says, “Proud of you.”

Ireen Wüst is a big champion. She won six gold, five silver and two bronze medals at the Olympic Games. She is therefore the most successful Dutchman ever at the Games and the first skater with thirteen Olympic medals. Another seven -time world champion is all -round and fifteen -time world champion at an individual distance.

In 2017 she got to know Letitia. The two have now been married and at the beginning of this year a child expected this summer.

Great wish
Three years ago Ireen already announced in the TV program College Tour that she would like to found a family. “Some things you want all your life. A desire for children is one of them. How beautiful would it be if you can have your own children? That would weigh more than those golden pastes for me.”

In 2022, Ireen said goodbye to the skating sport and she started supervising athletes from TeamNL.
