At the race the children have to run for a lot, cycle and run for another piece. This year the competition would take place at the Stadsstrand van Hoorn.
But because of the expected heat, the organization does not think it is wise to let the race continue this Saturday. The temperature can amount to around thirty degrees. In consultation with the Medical Assistance Organization in the Region (GHOR), it was therefore decided to cancel the events.
Not take a risk
“Despite the careful preparations and the use of many stakeholders, we do not consider it justified to take the risk of health incidents. We don’t want to take any risk at these temperatures,” the organization said.
The organization is now looking for a new date to organize the event. When that will be will be announced later.
