The Investigative Committee of Belarus opened a criminal case of violence against an official performing official duties after the attack on the country’s embassy in London. About it it says in the message of the department in Telegram.

The case was opened under Part 1 of Art. 366 of the Criminal Code of Belarus. Maximum punishment on it – imprisonment for up to seven years.

On the eve of the attack of a group of people on the Belarusian embassy in London, a group of people reported the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus. The department said that the attackers damaged the facade of the building where the embassy is located, and also attacked the diplomats. One of the embassy employees was “seriously injured” and hospitalized with a broken nose, minor concussion and a traumatic tooth fracture.

Because of the incident, the Charge d’Affaires of Great Britain was summoned at the Belarusian Foreign Ministry. The ministry called the incident “an attempt at reprisals” against those who defend the interests of the country’s citizens and are working to improve relations between the two states. According to the statement of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry, the attack was carried out by members of the “radical emigrant group” Nadzeya “.
