A difficulty winter comes to an end for Simon Jocher. The German ski racer has to undergo intervertebral disc surgery.
The DSV Speed team, which is heavily battered due to resignations, injuries and illnesses, must cope with a further failure. Simon Jocher, who had to go to the start again and again due to heel problems, now ended his season prematurely. The 28-year-old has to undergo intervertebral disc operation.
For Bayer it was a difficult winter in which he could only contest five World Cup races. Last August Jocher had suffered a herniated disc, since the end of December he also fought with the consequences of a heel injury. At the World Cup in Saalbach-Hinterglemm, he last stayed behind the expectations.
Failure series in the DSV Speed team continues
The German speed team has had to deal with failures again and again in the past few months: the team, shrunk after the resignations of Thomas Dreßen and Josef “Pepi” Ferstl, then also had to take in the disease -related failure of Andreas Sander, the resignation of Dominik Schwaiger and the severe fall of Jacob Schramm on the streak.
There are still five races for the speed drivers this season. From Friday to Sunday they run two descents and a Super-G in Kvitfjell in Norwegian, in mid-March the World Cup final in Sun Valley (USA) will increase.
