Intersport International increases annual sales by around 13 percent

The trading association Intersport International Corporation (IIC) closed the 2022 financial year with a new sales record. Retail sales reached 13.7 billion euros last year, exceeding the previous year’s level by 13.4 percent, the company announced on Friday. In the respective local currencies, revenues increased by a total of 12.1 percent.

After a “slow but nevertheless positive start” to the year, sales development accelerated in spring and autumn, according to a statement. In the final quarter, however, revenues stagnated “in view of the difficult economic conditions”.

According to its own statements, the trading association was represented with 5,300 branches in 42 countries at the end of 2022. The markets with the highest sales were Germany, France and Austria.
