The police chased a motorist for an hour and a half on Monday evening and eventually arrested him in Overloon with a great show of force. Images show how the man is chased by a large number of police officers and tackled to the ground in front of the church on 14 Oktoberplein.
A police helicopter was also deployed. About ten police units were involved in the pursuit. A police car from the national unit came to a halt against a tree after the chase. A passenger car was also damaged.
No one was injured. The chase started in Oostrum, Limburg, near Venray. The man was chased because he had violated an area ban.
When the police arrived, he took off in the car and committed dangerous antics along the way. He was eventually handcuffed and taken to the station.
