On Wednesday, the team will drive for five hours, stopping four times. During those stops they have to carry out assignments. “This could be something like pulling over to the side of the road and checking the tires,” says Dierks. “Maybe that sounds like a crazy assignment, but these kinds of tasks have a strict protocol that we have to follow, so that we know exactly how to act during the match.”
Anyone who thinks that a flashy solar car will be driving through the city center the day after tomorrow is wrong. The group drives normal cars, because the test is mainly about communication. Stops include Hof van Saksen and football club ACV. The results will be presented on Thursday and Friday in the TT-laan of the TT Festival.
Visitors can see the previous solar car there, the GreenSpirit. In a racing simulation, people can also feel what it is like to drive on a track.
