Injury shock for Coman – diagnosis after the game against Augsburg

In the end, the victory at FC Augsburg came at a high price for Bayern. Because Kingsley Coman sustained an injury – the Frenchman’s diagnosis has now been confirmed.

FC Bayern will have to be without French international footballer Kingsley Coman for weeks. The 27-year-old suffered a torn medial ligament in his left knee in the 3-2 win at FC Augsburg on Saturday, as the Munich team announced.

“That is of course bitter,” said sports director Christoph Freund. “But knowing Kingsley, he will come back even stronger. We wish him a speedy recovery!” The personnel situation at the record champions is getting worse.

“It’s a bit magical right now”

Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel expressed concern immediately after the final whistle. “It’s extremely painful right now,” he told the TV channel Sky. The French newspaper “L’Équipe” and the “Bild” newspaper subsequently reported on the diagnosis. Coman will most likely also be missing from the French team in the international match against Germany in Lyon on March 23rd.

The winger had to leave the field early in the game. When Munich took the lead 1-0 by Aleksandar Pavlovic (23rd minute), FCA attacker Phillip Tietz fell on the Frenchman’s left leg, who then remained lying there. Coman left the stadium on crutches.
