India train disaster: More than 288 dead and 900 injured after head-on collision

The death toll from the train crash in eastern India continues to rise: at least 288 people have died. That says Sudhanshu Sarangi, head of the Odisha state fire service, to the French news agency ‘AFP’. About 900 people were injured. There are fears that the established number of fatalities and injuries will rise even further.
