At Telstar the grapes are very sour after the defeat against FC Dordrecht (0-2 loss). From the 12th minute onwards, the Velsen team played with one man more after the visitors received a red card, but Mike Snoei’s team still suffered. “A thunder speech would be the best,” says a disappointed trainer.

After twelve minutes, Antef Tsoungui was sent off, but Telstar had difficulty expressing the man-more situation on the field in the score. Zakaria Eddahchouri came close twice after the break and substitute Mo Tahiri hit the crossbar. “How badly do you want to score that goal?” Snoei wonders out loud. He felt that his team was not decisive enough to really make things difficult for Dordrecht.
Thomas Oude Kotte also had incomprehension dripping from his face. The defender, who acted as left wingback for the occasion, saw his team miss opportunities. “Sometimes I don’t know anymore,” says the 27-year-old footballer. “If we don’t score a goal, you won’t get anywhere.”

Beforehand, there was a feeling that Telstar would have liked to end the last home game of the calendar year with a win. With the return of the injured Christos Giousis, Youssef el Kachati, Yaël Liesdek and Danzell Gravenberch, the infirmary emptied. Only Gravenberch took action, but was unable to force a breakthrough.
Telstar remains stuck in eighteenth place in the first division. The gap with the teams above is getting bigger and bigger. “I also see that all those other teams are losing. I know that we will soon have a fit group, but there could have been more,” Snoei concludes.
Next Friday Telstar will close the calendar year with the away match against VVV-Venlo.
