In Coevorden, today was considered at the start of the liberation of Drenthe, today exactly 80 years ago. On April 5, 1945, the liberators entered the city over the Bentheimer Bridge to reduce the German occupier.
The Liberty Tour that travels through Drenthe for ten days arrived in Coevorden today. The city was all about commemorating and celebrating freedom all day. Among others, King Jetta Klijnsma’s commissioner laid a wreath there.
