Two 20-year-old men from Zaandijk and Koog aan de Zaan were sentenced to a year in prison for a robbery in the forest near Anloo, of which up to a maximum of five months.

Two co -suspects from Amsterdam and Zaandam (18 and 20 years old) have been acquitted. Their role was too small to be able to speak of extortion. For example, the Zaandammer was in the car all the time and was insufficiently involved. The Amsterdammer did receive a 14 -hour community service for drug possession.

What had to be a pleasant step evening for the victim in Groningen, ended in a nightmare in the forest near Anloo. The boy got into the car with the four men. He had met one of them before. He didn’t know the other boys. The ride went to the woods near Anloo.

He smoked a bit with two of them on the forest path. He was hit on his head out of nowhere. The boy was mistreated and robbed of his coat, shoes and telephone. Then ‘new friends’ were driving away. He was left in the forest. He approached any home.

The residents saw that the young man was injured in the face and called the police. The police tracked down the suspects via the telephone contacts. All denied. But the victim’s shoes were in the home of the Amsterdammer. DNA of the man from Zaandam was sitting on a remaining cigarette.

The judge heavily lifts that the suspects left the victim in the forest to his fate. They were only busy with their own financial gain. The robbery has not only done physical, but also mental damage to the victim. The young man has lost confidence in fellow human beings. He can look forward to a damage amount of 3,000 euros.
