Our profession is constantly being attacked, both from the side of incumbencies and from politics, which, regardless of party affiliation, and looking at absurd surveys, insults and unfairly beats our colleagues.
Deputies who are not lawyers, present bills to carry out administrative divorces in the same Civil Registry in which the marriages have taken place, without taking into account that the people who have married and even more so, who have later had children As a result of this union, they enjoy rights and obligations, not only property rights, which must be consulted, guided and evaluated by a legal professional, and checked by a family judge, because otherwise the weakest party would be violated. In general, it is the woman.- Imagine, without going any further, a woman victim of gender violence forced to sign the renunciation of her rights in a civil registry.- In these outdated decisions, not only professional practice but also also the legal security of the entire society.
At the same time, it is intended to leave the successions in the hands of the notaries, interfering with the duties of the lawyers who are the ones who are trained to advise the successors, heirs or legatees with the complexity that they can have these acts.
Without going any further, it is intended that lawyers are obligated to report suspicious transactions of our clients to the FIU, thus violating professional secrecy.
The attack is continuous and permanent.
They accuse labor lawyers of being responsible for the supposed and non-existent “trial industry”, when the only thing that lawyers do is apply the laws dictated by the National Congress and by the way the sentences are handed down by judges and not by lawyers.
Fees are permanently regulated below the tariff law without any type of sanction for those who violate the regulatory standard of our stipends.
In order to put a stop to these systematic attacks, it is necessary that the legal profession be strongly and loyally represented by lawyers who make a living from professional practice and not by politicians who use the bar as a springboard for other aspirations.
That is why each and everyone, in order to change the reality that afflicts us as enrollment lawyers, we have the obligation to participate, because participating is the only way to change reality.
Voting for those who represent us as lawyers is a right but also an obligation.
