Sweden’s King Karle XVI Gustav turns 80 today, April 30. The king’s birthday is celebrated in Stockholm on May Day in traditional fashion.

The day of celebration begins with a thanksgiving service in Stockholm’s Royal Palace Church. The service for invited guests starts at 11 a.m. Finnish time.
