The Dutch maritime industry is fully involved in the construction of 4 new submarines for the Royal Netherlands Navy through the compulsory industrial cooperation agreement (ICA). This is also apparent from the strategic contract signed today by Royal IHC with Naval. Royal IHC will make a substantial contribution to these new boats through the construction of modules and steel structures with an economic value of several hundred millions of euros.
Dutch maritime manufacturing companies and knowledge institutes are assured of work and strengthening (technological) knowledge in both production and maintenance of the 4 new submarines for the Royal Navy by the Industrial Collaboration Agreement (ICA). The ICA was signed by the Minister of Economic Affairs with the French Naval Group last September. The financial value, which ends up in the Netherlands during the production phase via the ICA, is already almost € 1 billion.
There are 10 Dutch companies in the industrial agreement for the submarines themselves. In addition to Royal IHC, RH Marine (platform automation and energy management), Bolidt (acoustic upholstery), Van Halteren Technologies (hydraulic systems), Optics 11 (detection), Solico (composite structures), Combimac (Technical Signature), Hatenburies) and water supply, and water supply), and water supply), and water supply), water supply), water supply), water supply), water supply), water supply), water supply) and water supply), water supply) and water supply), water supply), water supply), water supply), water supply), water supply), water supply), and water supply) and water supply) and water supply) and water supply) and water supply) (water supply) and water supply) and water supplying) and water supply) and water supplying) and water supply) and water supply. support). The Dutch knowledge institutes Marin and TNO are also involved in the construction of the new submarines via the ICA.
The ICA is being raised proportionally for the future maintenance activities that are invested by Defense at Naval Group. As a result, the financial volume of the ICA will increase to more than € 1 billion in the future.
In addition to the engagement of Dutch industry for the submarines, Naval Group will also place orders through the industrial cooperation agreement at Dutch companies for subsystems and components for surface vessels that the yard builds for various customers. This is a broad group of companies from the maritime defense sector such as Thales Netherlands, DBR, MAFO, Kwant Controls, Rubber Design and Holland Marine Lifts. Dutch companies are already the third largest international supplier group of Naval Group.
